Fall is in the air, the leaves are turning like the pages in a book and scent of fresh milled pages is everywhere. I’m currently taking a slight break in writing Ridge of Bone to fine tune the world building. Working on mapping out the geography, theocracy and cultural divisions among both the dragon and human empires. There is so much planning to goes into a book ahead of the writing and it’s a delight to be able create an entire world for readers to fall into.

The release date for Heart Master is approaching fast. Advance copies have gone out to some of the faithful and the initial feedback has been stellar so far. Thanks to all of you that have participated in the process. You are deeply appreciated. And for the rest of you, come November you’re in for a treat if these early reactions are anything to go by. Along with Dragon Street Press I’ve crafted a tale that I hope drags you in and doesn’t let go till the final page.

Also just finished a beta read for fellow writer in Cincinnati Fiction Writers. Can’t give out any details but it’s a charming whodunnit with a devastating ending. I do so love getting early peeks into what could end up on the best seller list in a few years. As much fun as it is to succeed, there’s nothing quite like participating in the success of others.

While you’re waiting for my debut release, here’s a great series to check out which inspired me while hammering out the Heart Master. The series follows the daughter of merchant who is drawn into a political conspiracy and ends up conscripted into the king’s messenger service. Kristen Britain really knocked it out of the park with this series.
